Some people have naturally Beautiful Eyes. What about the rest of us?
Beautiful eyes do not have dark circles or puffy bags under them. And as always, the best and the first method of remedy must be a healthy diet and a sensible sleep routine. There are occasions when, because of celebrations or because of worry or the ill health of others, lack of sleep will be unavoidable. Every effort should be made to keep these occasions to a minimum as continued abuse of the body in this way may leave a permanent mark upon the eyes and the area immediately surrounding them.
It’s very widely known that cucumber slices are beneficial when placed on the eyes yet few people go to the trouble of actually doing it. It does cool the area around the eye and can reduce puffiness, but you will find that the shape of the cucumber slice does not allow it to come into contact with the total eye area and so it is not the most effective method to use. Far better to squeeze out a couple of tea bags, pop them into a plastic bag and place in the fridge until quite cold. Place the cold tea bags over your closed eyelids and lie down for 15 minutes. After which your eyes will appear brighter and the puffiness will have lessened. Some of this effect must be attributed to the cold more than the tea!
For habitual dark circles slightly more complicated measures are required. Grate a potato onto a couple of squares of muslin. Fold them until the potato is neatly sandwiched in between at least one layer of muslin each side. Place over the closed eyelids and leave in place for 15 minutes. Permanent dark circles can occur because of illness or medication and unfortunately these may not ever totally disappear but with regular treatments like this they can be greatly improved.
If you are concerned about wrinkles around the eyes (do remember that beautiful eyes can still have wrinkles) dab a little light moisturising oil onto the eyelid and underneath the eyes before bed. Or you could use a specially formulated
night serum
to help keep the ravages of time at bay.I cannot stress enough the importance of touching the eyes with a very delicate hand. Using your left pinky, if you are right handed and vice versa if you are left handed, is a good idea since this will feel awkward and has the effect of making you take special care.
